The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. -- Albert Einstein
Though the national convention where the candidates for President will officially be chosen is almost a year away, what Ron Paul supporters do in the next three months will be critical to determining how far he goes in the race. As many supporters are new to politics, this is a crash course on what you can do to ensure that the Republican national convention chooses Ron Paul next September.
Two days after the debate, CNBC Managing Editor Allen Wastler posted "An Open Letter to the Ron Paul Faithful" at the CNBC website, in which he accused them of having hacked the poll. Wastler wrote, "You guys are good. Real good. You are truly a force on World Wide Web and I tip my hat to you. ... You folks are obviously well-organized and feel strongly about your candidate and I can't help but admire that. But you also ruined the purpose of the poll."
However, the very next day, Harwood himself posted "My Open Letter To Ron Paul Supporters," in which he apologetically stated, "I agree with the complaints. I do not believe our poll was 'hacked.'
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."~~ Thomas Jefferson
What does Iraq look like on the ground? It's certainly far from being a modern, self-sustaining country. Many roads, bridges, schools and hospitals are in deplorable condition. Fewer people have access to drinking water or sewage systems than before the war. And Baghdad is averaging less than eight hours of electricity a day.
The article received enormous attention because it challenged what had become a taboo issue in mainstream foreign policy circles, namely the impact of the Israel lobby on U.S. Middle East policy.
Two prominent economic experts have warned that "insiders with conflicts of interest" allied to the Fed's policy of tanking the dollar to bail out Wall Street could lead to a repeat of the economic crash of 1929, during a segment on Bill Moyers' PBS show.
Dallas—March 23, 2006—TomFlocco.com—A November 29, 1963 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit memo unearthed in 1977-78 proves that former President George H. W. Bush was a member of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the recipient of a full briefing on the day after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 when Bush was 39 years old, despite his protestations to the contrary.
Documents obtained by Trentadue as part of his lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act show that federal government learned from informants that right-wing extremists were considering bombing federal buildings, including the Alfred E. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, prior to McVeigh's April 1995 attack.
"Am I a member of the CFR, Council on Foreign Relations? No," Romney confidently replies. However, if you simply go to the Council on Foreign Relations website you can read his biography under the leadership and staff section. The header in your browser should read 'CFR Expert'. Mitt is clearly a member.

Masri is perhaps the best-known individual to have become ensnared in the Bush administration’s program of “extraordinary rendition,” under which people are snatched from the streets and spirited away to secret prisons for interrogation, or worse.
Frank Waterhouse of Oregon is suing Portland police after he was tasered and shot with a beanbag gun. His offense? Videotaping a warrantless police search on a friend's property.

Please send a letter to your Representative urging them to attend these important hearings and demand justice and accountability for Maher.
You can watch the proceedings live on the House Judiciary Committee's website starting at 2 p.m.
The tools provided by the Protect America Act will expire in early February 2008, but instead of making these tools permanent, H.R. 3773 would make our Nation less safe by weakening them. Keeping the authority to collect foreign intelligence under the Protect America Act is essential to America's security. Congress must also provide meaningful liability protection to companies facing multi-billion dollar lawsuits only because they are believed to have assisted in the efforts to defend our Nation following the 9/11 attacks.
New evidence conclusively demonstrates that Bush began the illegal surveillance of Americans long before September the 11th, 2001 - and in fact began as early as February 27th, 2001.
Why? Because a good friend of mine is Pakistani-American, and she regularly chats with folks in Pakistan. And under our government's new standard, if you chat with me, and I chat with someone who chats with someone in Pakistan, then the government has the right to look at the details of your communication with me.

Inside the code Fernandez found labels for two keys, dubbed “KEY” and NSAKEY”. Fernandez, though, termed it NSA’s “back door” into the world’s most widely used operation system. The Recording Industry Association of America's litigation strategy is taking a detour into the internet's Precambrian layer, suing a company that distributes the ancient decentralized message board known as Usenet.
Well well well. Maybe i spoke too soon yesterday :) I was wondering if/when this would happen. For those in the dark, Usenet goes back to the very early days of the internet, long before there were internet browsers, pop-up ads and spam. In more recent times, Usenet has become quite the fad again among file-sharers, though, traditionally, it was not the average Joe who was interested in downloading 100's of very large text files and trying to figure out how to combine and convert them to the binary files they started out as. Binary newsreaders made that point and click simple however and i'm sure this led to a Usenet population explosion. I would guess that's the primary reason why Usenet has come under attack by those who *cough* have the artists best interests at heart. It's a shame to see the very roots of the internet being pulled out by boot-licking corporate attorneys. And still, the P2P community grows. -- ZDN
