The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. -- Albert Einstein

101 Reasons To Vote Ron Paul

1. He Supports the Constitution.

And in the position we are in, that's about all i need to know.

Know Nothing, Do Nothing America

Let us now look closely at the 2nd and biggest group of Americans, the do nothings. This is the majority of our citizenry. These are the folks who know better. They realize that things are rotten in this nation. They realize that the economy cannot sustain $ 500 billion for a phony war, or CEOs that earn 400 times what their employees earn. They can see how greed and avarice have been destroying their lives. They see how the private health insurance companies ( and hurricane and flood insurers ) have ruined lives with higher profits and less coverage. So what do these folks, the majority of our nation, what do they do about all the above? Nothing!

Fake Photos Helped Lead U.S. to Invade Iraq

Several years later, Kanjorski said he learned that the pictures were “a god-damned lie,” apparently taken by CIA photographers in the desert in the southwest of the U.S. The drone story itself had already been disproved, although not many major media carried that story.

Iraqi forces flee police station in Western Baghdad

This weekend, Iraqi forces disbanded a police station in western Baghdad.  A significant chunk of the Iraqi capital is now in complete anarchy

State Department Finds Iraqi Government Corrupt from Top to Bottom

State Department investigators in Iraq have concluded that the government of Nouri al-Maliki is not capable of even rudimentary enforcement of anti-corruption laws. The investigators also say that corrupt civil servants with connections to the government are seen as untouchable, and that employees of Iraq's watchdog Commission on Public Integrity have been murdered in the line of duty.

Holy cow! Maybe we need another "troop surge"!

Pentagon ‘three-day blitz’ plan for Iran

The Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians’ military capability in three days, according to a national security expert.

Israeli Control of the Mass Media & the 9-11 Cover-Up

As a longtime observer of Israel and the Middle East, I have watched how the U.S. mass media has increasingly become an instrument of Israeli propaganda. As Zionists have extended their grip on American media networks the major television, radio, film and print media outlets have effectively become propaganda tools of a foreign state - Israel - and are used to manipulate U.S. public opinion to support the Zionist agenda. The painfully obvious anti-Arab and anti-Islamic bias of Hollywood films and news-related programs has become ever more extreme as pro-Israel Zionists have achieved near total control of the U.S. mass media.

John Hagee- World War 3

A must hear- Pastor of the 17,000 member Cornerstone Church in Texas, John Hagee tells all about Radical Islam's war against the US.

CIA Invents Hezbollah Threat

“The NIE seems… fiddled [with],” regarding Hezbollah, one high-ranking CIA official told Alexandrovna. “Whether it is or isn’t is not really the point. The point is that nobody is ready to believe it.” Nobody, that is, except a gullible American public, barraged 24-7 with idiotic tales of terrorists gone wild, ready to invade the homeland and convert Americans at gunpoint to Islamofascism.

What They Did on Summer Vacation

More than two dozen lawmakers went there during their vacations, ostensibly to see the war firsthand. What they mostly got were a couple of days’ worth of meetings with people the administration wanted them to meet, and armored car rides through the Green Zone.

Afghanistan Opium Production Reaches 93% of World's Supply

The report did not say that Afghanistan is currently occupied by the world’s most powerful country in terms of tactical and strategic fighters and bombers and countryside obliterating weapons of mass destruction and annihilation, the United States of America.

Brian DePalma Airs "Redacted" Iraq Images in New Film

The film centers on perhaps the most horrendous known atrocity involving U.S. troops, the gang rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl and four members of her family in March 2006.

Children Starved of Childhood

Only two provincial schools and one private kindergarten school are functioning in this city of 280,000, located 50 km north of Baghdad. Most children know neither school nor play.

Government secrecy on the rise

Since 2001, the “state secrets” privilege has been invoked a reported 39 times–an average in 6.5 years (6) that is more than double the previous 24 years

Coalition of nuns calls for impeaching Bush and Cheney

The letter says that impeachment is warranted for their “deceiving the public under the false pretense that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction” and “destroying” the reputation of the United States and the good will of other nations.

Papers Please: Arrested At Circuit City

Don't miss this article!

Me: “Is there a problem?”

Joe: “I need to examine your bag and receipt before letting you leave this parking lot.”

Me: “I paid for the contents in this bag. Are you accusing me of stealing?”

Joe: “I’m not accusing you of anything, but I’m allowed by law to look through your bag when you leave.”

Me: “Which law states that? Name the law that gives you the right to examine my bag when I leave a Circuit City.”

Mexico trucks to roll on U.S. highways

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration can proceed with a plan to open the U.S. border to long haul Mexican trucks as early as next week after an appeals court rejected a bid by labor, consumer and environmental interests to block the initiative.

TWA 800 FOIA Suit Yields Smoking Gun

"On Tuesday, July 23, 1996, a representative from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) advised [the FBI] that after a visual analysis of both the videotape as well as a number of still photographs taken from various portions of the tape, the phenomenon captured by [name redacted] appeared to be consistent with the exhaust plume from a MANPAD [Man-portable air-defense] missile."

Discovery Channel scoops CNN on TWA 800 story

Hundreds of witnesses reported seeing a streak of light in the sky before Flight 800 exploded. Two Air National Guard pilots in the air at the time identified the streak as a missile.

Free security software 'as good as commercial brands'

Computer owners who pay for top-of-the-range security software could be wasting their money, according to Which?

Wasting money is only part of the problem. Popular products, such as Norton, embed themselves so deep in the OS that they are very difficult, at best, to completely remove (and no, Add or Remove Programs won't do a clean uninstall). I've seen so many users that are constantly subjected to pop-ups from these garbage products warning that updates are necessary, bogas alerts, pestering for upgrades, etc.. I don't why people put up with these commercial bloatware products that slow your systems speed and slow OS load and give you problems eventually. If you use a little common sense, you don't need this garbage. There are a variety of free products available that will do just as good of a job. I've never used commercial products and i have far LESS problems that most people that do. Here's how i do it:

#1 - GET RID OF INTERNET EXPLORER AND OUTLOOK/OUTLOOK EXPRESS !!! They will always be more vulnerable than any other well known product i can think of. Try an alternative browser, such as Opera, or Firefox. Both are completely free. For an email client, there are several very good ones but the only one i'm familiar with is Thunderbird.

#2 - There's a number of very good, free anti-virus products. Personally i prefer ClamWin. It's free, small, fast, open source and updated regularly. ClamWin does not do background scanning, meaning that it doesn't waste your system resources by constantly scanning every file you open, modify, download, etc.. There is NO NEED TO if you use some common sense. ClamWin will update virus definitions automatically if you want it to, but you have to invoke the virus scanner manually, via explorers context menu, to scan a file. This is called 'on-demand' scanning. AVG is also good and so is Avast!, but the latter has become too bloated for my taste.

#3 Dump the Windows firewall and use something that actually works, such as Comodo.

#4 Turn off unneeded Windows services! Do access your box remotely? If not, disable Telnet. Most home users do not need: Alerter, Clip Book, Computer Browser, TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper, Web Client or Workstation, Business machines may not need all of these either. Disabling these services will harden your system against attacks.

#5 Harden your TCP/IP stack against attacks with Harden-IT.

#6 REMOVE annoying, unused and security hole riddled Windows components BEFORE you install your OS using nLite. Here's just a fraction of the crap i generally cut out:

Screensavers (screensavers were for very old monitors so the screen wouldn't get an image burned in it)
ISDN (does anyone still use this?)
Keyboards (i remove all except US-EN)
Windows Media Player (security and privacy risk and crippeled functionality. I use Media Player Classic + the K-lite Codec Pack, however VLC is simpler and will play most media formats)
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (XnView or IrfanView are both far more powerful. Both are free)
Internet Explorer (i reluctantly keep the IE core files however because Explorer is so dependent on IE)
Internet Information Services (IIS) (Do you run a webserver? Apache is thee de facto webserver anyway and it's free and open source)
Netmeeting (security and privacy risk)
Outlook Express (security risk)
Windows Messenger (security risk and used by spamers)
Desktop Cleanup Wizard (i don't need a "wizard" to assess my desktop)
Disk Cleanup (CCleaner)
Help and Support (this wastes a lot of disk space)
Manual Install and Upgrade (i would suggest not upgrading to a newer OS as this can only cause problems. Do a clean install)
MS Agent (most annoying piece of garbage MS ever invented)
Search Assistant (i have work to do and i don't need an animated little dog to waste my time)
Security Center (garbage - totally unneeded)
Automatic Updates (i update manually, using Firefox, and choose what i install)
Error Reporting (this sends error reports to MS. Look what good it's done them: Vista -- bloatware garbage)
Remote Registry (need i comment on the potential security issues here?)
System Restore Service (waste of hard drive space and a false sense of security. Many people use this to restore their system state after being infected with malware, only to have the malware reinstalled because it has modified the files that will be restored. Always backup your data! Reinstalling the OS is easy. The installation process, using nLite, can be totally automated and can complete in roughly half the time if certain options are selected)
Languages (all except English)
