Like my ol' man told me once, statistics tell you exactly what the people that wrote them want you to hear. Remember the famous "4 of of 5 dentists recommend Crest"? How many dentists were surveyed? 5? 50? And over what geographical area? Did any of those dentists receive funding or other perks from Crest? Who did the survey? Who paid for it? As you can see, it's an utterly meaningless statistic. Not to mention that fluoride is a poison, more so than lead, and evidence is indicating that it may have little or no effect on preventing cavities. Other evidence shows that it certainly has no effect on preventing cavities when taken internally, such as you may be doing when you drink tap water with fluoride added to it.
